I’m Chimene del la Varis. I’m Pākehā of Spanish, Turkish, Ukrainian and Scots descent. I live in Te Atatu South with my sons, Te Karuoterangi and Tuhoea.
Drawing on a background in environmental and social issues journalism, I am a skilled advocate for Treaty-driven change, ecosystem restoration and social justice.
The streets, parks and community facilities we use everyday are the business of our local boards. We need board members who share our experiences - who live, drive and shop in Henderson-Massey.
We deserve candidates who will push for micro-business networks, smart transport technologies and green practices in the construction of the 6,000 newbuilds planned for our area.
